Despite the Gaza Conflict, Hadassah Builds Bridges to Peace


While the Cast Lead military operation in Gaza was taking place, eight-year-old Ruba from Gaza was being treated at the Hadassah Medical Center for thalassemia, a potentially fatal genetic disease that is common to both Jews and Arabs. Ruba had been fortunate that her brother was a match for her bone marrow and she was able to have a bone marrow transplant to save her life. “We love Hadassah,” her father commented. “We are being treated wonderfully.”
